- Spinal Twists (Seated or Standing): Sit or stand with your feet grounded. Slowly rotate your torso to one side, letting your pelvis, ribcage, and head participate. Can you feel how you sequence the movement? What moves first? Last? Most? Least? Try the other side and notice differences.
- Side Axis Balance Challenge: Stand tall and shift your weight fully onto one leg. Align your foot, pelvis, and spine (torso) vertically, as if stacking them up like building blocks. Notice how your body adapts to maintain balance. Can you sense the connection between your grounded foot and your head? Now shift to the other leg and compare. Can you try it in a step position with one foot further forward (as in walking?) How do you adapt to maintain your balance? Try the other side and note the differences.
- Walking Turns: Take a few steps forward and then turn 180 degrees, focusing on the rotation in your spine and pelvis. Can you find ease and continuity as you change direction?
- Figure Eights: Visualize first drawing a figure-eight shape with your pelvis while standing. Now do the movement. How does the rest of your body respond to this dynamic pattern? What happens when you do the movement small and light compared to big and bold? Slow compared to fast?
